Easels in Frederick is a juried plein-air painting event organized and run by an all-volunteer committee. It is designed to promote the creation and sale of high-quality art amid the rich historic charm of downtown Frederick, Maryland, and the surrounding countryside. By bringing art out of the studio and the gallery and into the community, the event:
- Fosters an appreciation of plein-air painting among adults and children.
- Increases local and regional awareness of art-related businesses and artists as business people in Frederick's economic and social environment.
- Raises Frederick's profile as an arts destination.
